Toronto Fashion District

Sunday was such a relaxing day spent strolling the streets of my city.  Our first stop was a quick one in Korea town.  I told myself before that one day I would want to walk into all the tiny little boutiques to see what they had to offer.  There are always so many vibrant streets in the big city that I drive past all the time, but am never able to stop and smell the roses.  That statement still stands true because Korea town wasn't the destination we had in mind that afternoon.  My mom just had to pick up a few things from one of those all organic and natural shops.  I wish I took more pictures that day so you guys could see all the cute window displays and such, but I guess I just got carried away by them myself.

We ended up treating ourselves to a banana and strawberry smoothie; though I think I could make one just as good to be honest.  And once again, I forgot to snap a picture!  One of the things I want to accomplish this summer is to check out all the boutiques in Korea town.  I think it's the city life that excites me.  So it's safe to say that although when I was younger I always wanted to raise animals on a farm, I don't see myself doing that in the future.  AT ALL.  Perhaps a puppy will satisfy the need.

Eventually we made our way to the fashion district.  There were definitely more tourists than usual.  Probably because of the Pan Am's.  I just love listening to foreign people talk.  Anyway, seeing all those designer stores gives me a certain high.  I know some of my friends hate window shopping because it just brakes their heart that they can't buy any of it.  I on the other hand love it!  Of course it isn't as satisfying as making a purchase, but I do enjoy it nevertheless.  It's very motivating and inspiring seeing the stuff you could buy in the future and makes me want to work harder for it.  I'm actually on the hunt for a part time job at the moment but I'll have to update you guys on that in another post.

We also made a stop at an ice cream parlour called Summer's.  I believe they're a very famous one too because there was a wall of celebrities that visited them.  Not the location I went to, but probably in the states.

My top is by the brand Rebel Sugar, which I got at Winner's.  I believe it was $8.  My Skirt is by Rag & Bone and from Urban Outfitters.  I got it on sale for $10!  My belt was actually my favourite part of the outfit.  I thrifted it Saturday and had to style it the next day.  I really gives me those Roman vibes that are going to be huge in the fall/winter seasons I believe.  It was $2.99!  And guess what?!  I'm not wearing my American Eagle sandals!  I'm actually wearing a pair of shoes by the brand G.H. Bass & Co.  My bag is from Danier Leather.  And my sunnies were gifted and are from Ardene.

By then it had already melted; seared into your soul

I've been having a strong thrifting craving ever since I hit up Value Village and the Salvation Army Thrift Store a while back, which I wrote about in this outfit post.  The fact is, I don't go shopping all too often which may seem a tad ironic.  I'm actually looking for a part time job at the moment and just the way I am, I don't like taking money from my mom because I don't feel like I've earned it.  Of course now and then I'll gladly accept it and go see a movie with a bunch of friends, eat out, or finally cave and buy those shoes I've been eyeing for ever.  But generally speaking, I don't like spending an excessive amount of money.  perhaps that will change once I get a job.  We shall see.

I'm getting a bit off track, but basically, that's why I've really gotten around to loving thrifting.  This was my second time thrifting and it's such an exhilarating feeling when you find a hidden gem for $5.99.  It's seriously a game changer.  Meaning to say, I used to love going to the mall and shop at the mainstream stores, but now I don't see why I need to anymore.

I'll admit I was very tempted to buy a lot of the items they had at the Value Village I went to.  I could just not justify buying a cobalt blue velvet slouchy oversized bat sweater, or the olive green pleated maxi skirt in the dead middle of summer.  Those two, I could live with..o..u..t.. *she said reluctantly* But then I hit the mother of all mothers.  I found a pair of almost brand new

I am wearing a "unicorn" top that was gifted to me and is from Aeropostale.  My shorts are were my moms and are DKNY Jeans but I chopped the legs off.  My bag is Danier Leather.  My belt is vintage.  My sunnies were gifted and are from Ardene.  My socks were from a sample sale and are by the brand David and Goliath.  And my sandals are from American Eagle.

In a world where roses are orange everything makes sense

A few days ago I went tile shopping, stone shopping, furniture shopping, and lighting shopping.  Didn't buy anything but there were lots of really cool house decor pieces I am mentally storing in my brain for the day that I finally move out and have my own place and hope that it's still in stock?  Welcome to the life of a teen.  I mean, I'm probably not the only one who window shops and online shops at really expensive stores because my petty wallet can't afford ANY of it.  If you're like me, and you enjoy home decor; I hope you find some of these pictures inspiring.

And while we're on the note of houses... I'm really curious what your dream houses are?  If you can link pictures I'd love that too!  Let me know in the comments!

These would probably be kind of what I would want my dream house to look like... I wish

On the topic of my outfit, I was sporting a easy breezy comfy look.  So simple and elegant.  My fringe blouse is from H&M.  I believe it was around $15 on sale. My midi culottes are from Urban Outfitters.  These where $10 on sale and I swear I wear them almost everyday.  They are my go to's.  My sandals are well  duh: American Eagle.  My sunglass was gifted and is from Ardene.  And lastly, my jewelry pieces are from a garage sale, childhood, and a family relative who also runs a really tumblr-esk Etsy shop called Mettaville.

That's it for this post, but check back daily because I have more outfits I need to post! <3
