Day 1 & 2 March Break Trip: Toronto to Rome

I'm currently typing up this recap as I sit in the lobby of my hotel in Tolo, Greece.

Day 1 (March 8th) was a travel day.  I met up with my school group at the Pearson Airport for 11am.  We had a layover at Montreal and then departed for Rome.

The company we are touring with is called Explorica and our guide is Nancy (we love her).

Rome is 6 hours ahead of Toronto so I slept throughout the entire flight to adjust to the time change.  Plus, we had touring plans for the entire next day when we landed.

Before we continue with this recap I'd like to mention that I might not remember the chronological occurrence of each picture; partly because they were taken on both my phone and camera, which leads me to state that some pictures have been edited via VSCO and some haven't.  I've got dozens of pictures to go through and I've only been editing them when I can here and there.  But if I edited them all I'd never get these posts up.
Anyways here we go...
Day 2 (March 9th) ~after landing~ we hopped on a bus (the one we'd be taking in Italy) and checked into our hotel.  Thanks Erasmo for being an awesome driver!

Once discovering our room had a private patio, of course, we took more pictures.  The view was great.

(I won't be listing where my clothing is from unless it's worth a mention).
We made a lunch stop at the Piazza Barberini, which is located in the center of the city.
I 100% recommend grabbing a slice (more like a slab) of pizza from Barberini Express, which is right across the Fontana del Tritone.
I split a pesto pizza with my friend.  Tasty and inexpensive :)
The Spanish Steps (Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti); built to connect the Trinità dei Monti church at the top to the Piazza di Spagna down below.
At the bottom of the steps there are a ton of designer shops.  The lanes are also great to just stroll down.
Gelato stop at Della Palma near the Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi).  It's a gorgeous shop with dozens of cool flavours.   I got lime and blueberry.  Sweet, but very tasty.
Then we made it to the Trevi Fountain!  Stunning architecture.  It's good luck to toss a coin over your left shoulder.  Once a day the soldiers collect the coins, which go towards charity.
Pantheon; formerly a Roman temple, now a church.
We crossed a bridge in the evening with a great view of the Vatican and sunset.

(if you must know, I'm now finishing this post in Mykonos, Greece *wink*.  I think the rest of my posts will be written post-trip)

Ciao!

April Outfit Recap

I first saw Amelia Diamond do this post on the Man Repeller.

In hindsight I am glad I was able to document all these outfits that otherwise would have been long lost memories.  On one hand, I can look at an outfit and tell you what I did that day and with who.  Other outfits weren't as successful and have left no recollection in my mind.

Since the beginning of 2018 I have been tracking all my spendings.  I was curious to know exactly where my money was going to and if I was actually spending the amount of money I thought I was.  Needless to say, April was a month of crazy spending.  My head hangs lows, and my inner money-saving-cheap-ass is shaking her head at all my impulse buys.

I spent over $400 alone in April.  There were some unusual purchases this month including $100+ hair products to dye my hair blue, and a $90 prom ticket.  What I'm  most disappointed in myself was spending $100+ on shoes I will most likely never where out the house (more on this in a later post).

In the end, I'm not as immune to impulse buys than I thought I was.

I'm actually quite shocked that none of these outfits were repeated.  I definitely have a lot of clothes (but not as much as people would think).  That's the beauty of selling clothes online, I get to wear them a couple of times, sell them, and buy something new :)  For example, that blue Dickies overall dress I wore with my rainbow tights was $10 at Urban Outfitters and I sold it for $30.

Just to give an update on my current situation, April and May have been filled with scholarship applications, unnecessary amounts of assignments, play rehearsals, and weird sleeping patterns.

Hopefully June will include more bubble tea outings, thrifting, and simply hanging out with amazing friends.

University Offers + March Break Plans + Catching Up - Life Update

Jacket Thrifted
Shirt Thrifted

Christian Dior Reversible Belt Thrifted
Headpiece UO

It has been so long since I've written a blog post.  I almost don't know where to start.

I got offers from all the universities I applied to!  This has been a super exciting experience and I love every minute I get closer to actually living out my uni experience.  Guelph and Trent are my top choices, but it seems like I'm leaning towards Trent.  I got an offer to their Medical Professional Stream, which is a program you take alongside your bachelors and provides you with mentorship, wonderful opportunities, and a great group of like-minded individuals.  I suppose more updates shall follow this about accepting, moving in, and yaddi yaddi ya. (!!!!)

Keeping on trend with this excitement (!!!!!!), I'm going on a school trip to Rome and Greece over the March Break!  I don't think I've made any sort of mention about this incredible opportunity, but I am so stoked to immerse myself in the culture, history, and beauty of these countries.  I plan on documenting every single day of the trip, so please keep me accountable.  I leave in six days...

Also, Demi is currently touring.  The coolest part is that she is coming to Toronto on my birthday!  Unfortunately (but really not that unfortunate) I will be celebrating my bday on the trip :)

Man, I it's so hard to resist the urge not to put an exclamation point after every sentence.

All these photos are ones that never ended up being enough for their own post.  I've been working on a year-long project that I plan on releasing here January of 2019.  So Although I haven't been posting much, I've definitely been taking at least one outfit photo a month for this secret project.  Sneak peeks of said project can be found on my blog and Instagram because I couldn't help myself (but I don't blatantly state that's what they were from).

As for other bits and bobs I'm doing...
I've got my play performance in May
I'm still sewing my prom dress for May?June? (I don't actually remember when it is)
The HOSA conference is the end of March, so I need to study study study
Oh and did I mention Demi is touring

I've basically put this post together because I missed blogging and wanted to share some cool pics from my phone.

At the beginning of January, I visited the Christian Dior Exhibition at the ROM with my friends Charlotte, Iris, and Terresa.  It was such an incredible experience getting to see up close the intricacy of each garment.  Although they did provide further pictures of the garments on a little screen, I would have loved if every garment had these extra pictures and lots more of them.  The garments were beautiful and because you couldn't touch them, I thought the set up of the exhibition didn't do them justice.  At least I've got a ROM membership (which my mom so generously gifted me for Christmas) so I am going again this Sunday.

Period

You don't have to show any forgiveness to someone who is abusive toward you, or who shows no empathy or remorse.  Period.  You are completely capable of healing without showing them any sort of compassion.  When someone seeks out help or makes apologies, it may be a different story, but when they take no accountability for hurting you, they are toxic, and their behaviors will continue.

Remember

All narcissists are hypocrites.  They pretend to have morals and values, that they really don't possess.  Behind closed doors, they lie, insult, criticize, disrespect and abuse.  They can do and say whatever they want, but how dare you say anything back to them or criticize them.  They have a whole set of rules for others, but follow none of their own rules, and practice nothing of what they preach.
